Grilled potatoes are one of the most overlooked cookout vegetables around. Don’t miss out on this easy, savory side dish. Serve with a variety of grilled veggies, or alongside brats or burgers. And for a tasty alternative, try sweet potatoes instead!
Savory Grilled Potatoes
Crispy and soft, smoky and savory: grilled potatoes are the new hotness.
Ingredients
- 2 large russet potatoes*
- 1 tablespoons olive oil
- Creole seasoning OR salt and pepper to taste*
Instructions
- Cut the potatoes lengthwise into thick (½ to ¾ inch) planks.
- Coat with olive oil and season to taste with cajun spice and salt and pepper.
- When you are ready to grill, place the potato planks over the hottest area of the grill. Close the grill cover.
- Grill for 15-20 minutes, or until the potatoes have a lightly charred outer crust and a soft interior. Serve immediately.
Notes
Sweet potatoes work well, too!
Creole seasoning may contain salt, so we usually don't add any more when we use it.
The grilling time will vary, depending on how hot your grill is. Just keep an eye on them — as long as the potatoes are cooked all the way through, it's hard to mess this one up.
